Affiliate & Disclosure Policy
Last updated: 18/04/2025
At ultramarathon.life, transparency and honesty are important to us. This page explains how we make money through affiliate partnerships and what that means for you as a visitor.
1. Affiliate Links
Some of the links on this website are affiliate links. This means that if you click on a link and go on to make a purchase, we may receive a small commission or other form of compensation. This does not affect the price you pay, and we only promote products or services that we genuinely believe are useful or of high quality.
We are committed to only sharing content that is honest, independent, and based on our own experience or research.
2. Why Affiliate Links?
These commissions help keep us running. Maintaining a website involves costs — hosting, software, time spent writing and researching. Affiliate links are a way for us to earn income while keeping the content on this site freely accessible to everyone.
We are selective about our partners, and all affiliate content is either:
- Clearly marked, or
- Contained within a post or page that includes a notice (such as: “This post contains affiliate links.”)
We only recommend products or services that:
- We’ve used ourselves
- We believe are genuinely useful and relevant to our audience
3. Sponsored Content
At this time, we do not publish sponsored content. You won’t find any sponsored posts, paid reviews, or paid placements of any kind on this site. Everything we publish is written by us and we only recommend things we use ourselves.
If we do end up receiving products/services in exchange for coverage, it will always be clearly disclosed at the top of the post. But if you’re looking to send us something to test out, please keep in mind we never allow sponsorships to influence our opinions or recommendations.
If we ever change our mind and start accepting sponsored content, we’ll be transparent and clearly mark any paid partnerships.
4. Compliance with UK Advertising Standards
We follow the CAP Code and guidance from the Advertising Standards Authority (ASA). This includes:
- Clearly labelling affiliate or paid content
- Making disclosures upfront and not hidden or buried in footnotes
- Ensuring our recommendations are accurate, fair, and not misleading
